Petyo Bonev is an assistant Professor at the University of St. Gallen. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany. His research interests are in applied and theoretical econometrics, with applications in labor economics and industrial organisation, in particular energy economics. Prior to his academic career, he gathered professional experience at the Boston Consulting Group, KPMG AG, Wüstenrot AG, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, and the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW). In 2011 he won the Best Paper Award at the Spring Meeting of Young Economists (Groningen). In 2015, he consulted the OECD on the project “The future of the Ocean Economy”, which has the purpose to provide scenarios for the impact of climate change on ocean-related economic activities. He became a coworker at the Ratio Institute in January 2018.
