The Ratio Institute invited scholars to submit paper proposals for a colloquium on corporate governance and property rights. Applicants from, economics, law and economics, economic history, political science, and related fields where encouraged to apply.
The colloquium was a two-day workshop and included both paper sessions and two keynote lectures held by internationally distinguished scholars within the fields of corporate governance and property rights. For successful applicants, travel costs, accommodation and meals where fully financed through the generous support of Stiftelsen Marcus och Amalia Wallenbergs minnesfond.
The two keynote lectures will be given by Morten Bennedsen, André and Rosalie Hoffmann Chaired Professor of Family Enterprise at INSEAD. Bennedsen’s main research area is the governance of family firms and other closely held corporations in a global context. His work has been published in top finance and economics journals, such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Political Economy, and Quarterly Journals of Economics. The second keynote lecture is given by Professor Stefan Voigt, director at the Institute of Law & Economics at Hamburg University. His research focuses on the economic effects of constitutions and the economic effects of the judiciary. Voigt is one of the editors of the Review of Law & Economics and a member of various boards including those of Public Choice and Constitutional Political Economy.
