Sara Bergström

Sara Bergström is a doctoral candidate in private law with a great interest in intellectual property law and fundamental rights. The purpose of her doctoral thesis is to examine and analyse the interaction between freedom of expression and trademark property rights based on the expressive nature and use of trademarks. How far does the exclusive right to the expressive content of this special property right reach in relation to the protection of freedom of expression and vice versa? The basis for the analysis is recital 21/27 EUTMR/EUTMD and how the recital affects the interpretation of EU and Nordic trademark law.
