Vicky Long has a Ph.D. in Industrial Economics and Management from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden. Her research interests span industrial dynamics, innovation and knowledge appropriation. The hitherto explored perspectives and projects include: a) the role of industrial knowledge in ICTs firms’ upgrading; b) factors and conditions that underlies the choices of (ICT) technological trajectories, including the role of patents and technology Vicky Long has a Ph.D. in Industrial Economics and Management from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden. Her research interests span industrial organization, technology management, industrial catching-up, and public policy. Her current research projects include: a) the transformation of IPRs (Intellectual Property Rights) and appropriability regime in the digital platform era: the Swedish video games industry case; b) What governs industrial AI (Artificial intelligence) data access? Appropriability and firms’ choice in governance modes. Her most recent edited book is Technological Change and Industrial Transformation (Routledge, 2021).
