Sarah Schroeder Becomes a New Associate Researcher at Ratio

    2025-02-05
    News

Sarah Schroeder, Assistant Professor of Economics at Aarhus University and a Fellow at the Research Centre for Firms and Industry Dynamics (FIND) becomes a new Associate Researcher at Ratio.

Her research explores how globalisation and technological change reshape labour markets, focusing on trade, FDI, and the impact of frontier technologies on firms and workers. She combines empirical analysis with theoretical modelling to examine how these forces influence wages, employment, and firms’ internationalisation decisions.

    Schroeder says:

“AI is transforming global markets, reshaping how firms operate, trade, and interact with workers, yet we still lack a clear understanding of which firms adopt these technologies, the barriers they face, and the broader implications for global value chains, employment, and inequality. Leveraging a novel firm- and worker-level AI survey conducted in collaboration with Statistics Denmark, my research examines how AI adoption reshapes firms and labour markets. Being affiliated with Ratio provides an excellent platform to further develop this work, fostering collaboration and engagement with other scholars and experts in the field. Through this research, I aim to generate new insights that inform evidence-based policies supporting inclusive growth, technological innovation, and long-term competitiveness in an evolving global economy.”
